Man arrested for trying to abduct 2-year-old girl in Navotas

MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly trying to kidnap a two-year-old girl in Navotas City on Sunday.
The Navotas City police said Monday that a woman saw a man grab and carry a child into a jeepney while trying to take her away from her aunt at about 9 p.m.

The witness and her father reported the incident to local officials, who went after and collared the man later identified as Atoy Reyes.

Meanwhile, the child was brought to the Navotas City Hospital and later returned to her relatives. /cbb
