Today, March 25, is the 84th birth anniversary of boxer Gabriel “Flash” Elorde.
Considered one of the greatest Filipino boxers of all time, Elorde had 87 wins (24 of these by knockout), two draws and 27 losses.
He died at the age of 49 on Jan. 2, 1985.
In 1993, Elorde became the first Asian boxer to be inducted into the New York-based International Boxing Hall of Fame.
