Duterte to PNPA’s Sansiklab Class 2019: Never be deceived by power, fame
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday reminded this year’s graduates of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) to never be deceived by power and fame as they begin their journey to law enforcement.
Two hundred and one cadets belonging to the Sansiklab Class 2019 graduated Friday (March 22) at Camp General Mariano Castañeda in Silang, Cavite.
“Excel in your chosen pursuits, lend your abilities to all our communities, and stand by your principles at all costs,” Duterte said in his speech during the 40th PNPA Commencement Exercise.
“Never be deceived by power nor by fame. What is important is that your honor, for it is your badge towards genuine success,” he added.
Duterte also urged the new law enforcers to support his administration’s war on drugs, terrorism, and corruption, stressing the country’s need for “optimistic and brave men and women like you who have the qualities to be effective and efficient public servant.”
The President then renewed his vow to continue supporting the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) “through programs that would improve your capacity, to uplift your morale, and ensure the well-being of your families.”

Of the total graduates, 138 will be joining the PNP, 41 will be absorbed by the BFP while 15 will be joining the BJMP. /kga
