MANILA, Philippines – A local fast food chain is receiving flak on social networking website Facebook after a distraught customer uploaded photos of his meal which had a large caterpillar in it.

On her page, Sigrin Andrea Bernardo uploaded several photos of her meal, ginisang kangkong which had a black caterpillar in it in an album titled “CHICKBOY SCANDAL!!!”. The photos were allegedly taken last Nov. 21, 2011, between 3:54 and 4:00 pm at Chic-Boy, Timog Branch.

INQUIRER.net tried to get in touch with the management of Chic-Boy Timog branch where the incident was supposed to have happened but the manager had left, according to one of the staff members.

In a lengthy post on the album, Bernardo ranted about the incident wherein the management and staff of the Chic-Boy Timog branch had offered to pay for the meal she and her friend ate but she then refused. In her post, Bernardo said that she paid for the meal and requested that what was left of her ginisang kangkong be packed for her to take-out. She said she had intended to use it as evidence when she files a complaint to the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD).

However, the management refused to give her the food she had paid for and one of the staff members had even implied that she may have put the worm on her food herself.

She added that the management had also failed to apologize to her and instead gave her a lecture on how the business was run. When tension ran high, the management also called on two policemen to mediate but to no avail.

Many of those who commented also shared their own experiences of alleged faulty service from the staff and management of other Chic-boy branches. Several others also lauded Bernardo for coming out with this issue and encouraged to file a complaint with the BFAD to teach the management a lesson.

As of 5:30 p.m., Bernardo’s album has had 1,603 shares and 134 comments posted.
