SAN PEDRO CITY, Philippines – Two suspected drug pushers were killed in separate buy-bust operations in Laguna province Wednesday night, police said Thursday.
Laguna police director Sr. Supt. Eleazar Matta, in a text message, identified the slain men as Emerson Lacson and Joseph Jones.
He said both suspects tried to resist arrest after the buy-bust by shooting at policemen.
Lacson was killed at about 8:30 p.m. in Barangay (village) Santissima. Police said he was also involved in robberies in the town.
At about the same time, Jones was killed in a police operation in Barangay Canlalay, Biñan City.
Police said they recovered 22 sachets of suspected “shabu” from the suspect. /cbb
