3 dead, 4 injured in Bataan road mishap
ABUCAY, BATAAN — Three people were killed while four others were seriously injured in a three-vehicle collision along the Roman Highway in Barangay Calaylayan here on Tuesday.
Police identified the fatalities as Blanca Mendoza, Analin Benavidez, and Ronnie Benavidez, all of Barangay Landing in Limay, Bataan.
They were all passengers of the ill-fated Mitsubishi Mirage car, which was then heading north to Dinalupihan town, also in Bataan.
Senior Insp. Jennifer Cruz, Abucay police chief, said the car was sideswept by the Isuzu trailer truck which was speeding in the same direction but lost control of the steering wheel.
The car collided with the approaching gas tanker truck on the opposite lane, sending the car in a total wreck.
Cruz said those injured, two of whom are minors, were all passengers of the car and were taken to the intensive care unit of Bataan General Hospital. Greg Refraccion/lzb
