Davao Oriental gov orders repair of typhoon-damaged Masipit bridge

DAVAO CITY- Davao Oriental Governor Nelson Dayanghirang ordered the quick repair of the Masipit Bridge in Taragonna, Davao Oriental on Tuesday.

Dayanghirang on Tuesday inspected the bridge which was heavily damaged by flash floods triggered by Tropical Depression “Chedeng.” The bridge was rendered impassable to vehicles since Tuesday.

Dayanghirang ordered the Provincial Engineer’s Office to coordinate with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) district office and the Municipal Engineer’s Office to fast track the repair of the bridge.

Heavy rain that poured through the night on Monday caused scouring which made the bridge unstable and unsafe.

The engineering team is currently repairing the embankment to make the approach passable.  /muf
