Truck filled with P300k groceries hijacked in Quezon City
MANLA, Philippines—A delivery truck containing around P300,000 worth of grocery items was hijacked early Monday in Quezon City by armed men including one who posed as a policeman.
The robbery involving the van of Cruzmar Trucking occurred around 1 a.m. at the corner of Xavierville Road and Chico St. in Loyola Heights.
Senior Police Officer 4 Allan de la Cruz, theft and robbery section chief of the Quezon City Police District, said the delivery truck (license plate: UCC-997) contained P300,000 worth of grocery items.
According to its owner, Jessie Cruz, 40, the delivery van was about to make deliveries that morning to some 7-Eleven convenience stores.
At least four men aboard a black sedan and a motorcycle are believed to be behind the hijacking.
The driver, Gary Siar, 32, said one of the suspects even wore a blue police shirt and black jacket. The hijackers were armed with handguns.

The man in police uniform trained a flashlight on Siar’s face whom he accosted for committing a traffic violation, saying that the van should not have made the turn.
The armed men then declared the heist once the van’s occupants got out of the van. The driver and his helpers were made to board a black car apparently tailing the van.
Siar and the two helpers had their hands bound and their eyes and mouth covered using packing tape, while their cell phones and wallets were seized from them.
They were later dropped off somewhere in Cavite province.
