Manila Water: Over 93% of NCR’s East Zone now gets regular supply

MANILA, Philippines — More areas in Metro Manila’s East Zone concession of Manila Water Co. are now receiving regular supply and longer hours of water availability, the water firm reported Tuesday.

Following water-less days and implementation of rotational water service cutoff last week, Manila Water said over 93 percent of its jurisdiction now has regular water supply while improved water services can be experienced in the villages of San Isidro, San Jose, San Luis, and San Roque in Antipolo; and Bambang and Wawa in Taguig.

It said these barangays are now getting additional seven hours of water supply daily.

According to Manila Water, the rotational water service scheme was adopted as a temporary measure to balance water supply distribution. It also noted that it has been making calibrations in its network distribution in the past days, resulting in the continuous improvement of water restoration.

“We are greatly encouraged by the results of our actions, and we will continue to exert all effort to bring water service availability back to normal levels at the earliest possible time,” Manila Water said in a statement. /kga
