Teen caught breaking into Makati hardware store

MANILA, Philippines — A teenager was caught breaking into a hardware store in Makati City early Monday, police said.

Police Officer 3 Ricky Mel Corpuz of Makati Police Station said that the 16-year-old boy was caught by village watchmen breaking into Sunlight Hardware along EDSA in Makati City around 6 a.m.

Corpuz said that the boy was found in possession of a pair of plyers and a kitchen knife.

He is still under police custody but would later be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Corpuz said.
