Duterte skipped two events because of migraine – Palace

President Rodrigo Duterte is in the pink of health despite his absence from two events in Davao City on Friday due to a migraine, Malacañang said on Monday.

Senatorial candidate Christopher “Bong” Go, the President’s former special assistant, also said Mr. Duterte was “indisposed” when he skipped the events, including the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) campaign rally in the city.

At a press briefing, presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the President needed a few hours’ rest to recover from migraine on Friday night.

No cause for concern

“He had migraine but after three hours of rest, he recovered and went to work, reading so many documents,” Panelo said.

Asked if the President’s health condition was a cause for concern, Panelo said: “Definitely not.”

Apart from his scheduled appearance in the PDP-Laban campaign rally on Friday, the President was also supposed to attend the distribution of land titles to agrarian reform beneficiaries in Davao City.

Go, in a Facebook post on Saturday, said the President had “midnight snacks” after reading several documents.

The President’s state of health has been a cause of concern for his supporters, as well as speculation by his critics.
