Poe still leads senatorial survey; Bong Go barges into 3rd place

MANILA, Philippines — Reelectionist Senator Grace Poe topped thelist of probable winners in the senatorial race in the midterm election in May, the latest Pulse Asia survey showed.
The survey, conducted from February 24 to 28 using face-to-face interviews, showed Poe getting a 67.5 percent voter preference.
Administration-backed reelectionist Senator Cynthia Villar ranked second with 61 percent voter preference.
Sharing the third to 5th spot were former Presidential aide Bong Go (53 percent) and fellow Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) bet Senator Sonny Angara (52.2 percent).
Former senator Lito Lapid (49 percent) landed on the third to 7th spot, followed by Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano (47 percent) on the 4th to 7th spot.
PDP-Laban bet Ronald dela Rosa (44.6 percent) was on the 5th to 8th spot while reelectionist Senator Nancy Binay (40.5 percent) was on the 7th to 8th spot.
Former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas is the highest ranked candidate from the opposition, landing on the 8th to 12th spot with a 39.8 percent voter preference.
Rounding out the “Magic 12” were pro-administration bets Bong Revilla (36.8 percent), Imee Marcos (36 percent), and Koko Pimentel (35.6 percent).

Lurking right outside the winning circle is former senator Jinggoy Estrada (33.9 percent) on the 10th to 15th spot. Next to Estrada is another PDP-Laban and HNP candidate Francis Tolentino (32.1 percent).
Completing the top 20 are reelectionist Senators Bam Aquino (13th to 17th spot) and JV Ejercito (15th to 18th), former senators Serge Osmeña (15th to 18th), and Juan Ponce Enrile (16th to 18th), and HNP bets Dong Mangudadatu (19th to 21st) and Jiggy Manicad (19th to 22nd). /ee
