Scalpers of PBA tickets arrested in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — Two alleged scalpers of PBA tickets were arrested by joint elements of the Cubao Police Station and the Games and Amusement Board outside the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

A report from the Cubao Police Station on Monday identified the suspects as Alexander Mendoza, 40, and Lucky Abrea, 33.

Police said they were conducting operations against scalpers in the area at around 6:30 p.m. when they chanced upon the suspects allegedly selling PBA tickets without permission from the Araneta Center Management.

Supt. Giovanni Hycenth Caliao, Cubao Police Station director, told INQUIRER.net that the suspects were selling P400 tickets at P800 each.

The suspects were brought to the Cubao Police Station for violation of the city ordinance against scalping, according to police. /cbb
