PDEA nabs school teacher, 3 cohorts selling shabu in Zamboanga del Sur

Sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia recovered from the raid in a hotel in Pagadian City.

ZAMBOANGA CITY — A school teacher and three of his friends were arrested in one of the hotels in Pagadian City on Friday morning, March 15, after being caught in possession of shabu known as methamphetamine hydrochloride.

Police Major Helen Galvez, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 9, identified the teacher as Ryan Gabunilas Cabilao and his three companions Edmundo Rais Abalos, Sweet Ann Basco Resuelo and Mia Grace Buligan Panganuran.

“They were arrested inside Golden Hotel and in possession of 33 sachets of shabu and other drug paraphernalia,” Galvez said.

The joint personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Zamboanga del Sur, the provincial intelligence branch of the Zamboanga del Sur Police Office, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Dumalinao town police raided a room inside Golden Hotel at Barangay Paglaum in Dumalinao town, where the four were arrested.

Galvez said the 33 sachets had an estimated market value of P34,000.

She said the four were now under the custody of PDEA at the Provincial Capitol Compound in Santo Nino, Pagadian City./lzb
