TGP party-list : Intensify recyling program at barangay level

MANILA, Philippines – The recycling program should be taken seriously and vigorously beginning from the barangay level according, Talino at Galing ng Pilipino party-list (#48 TGP) first nominee Jose “Bong” Joson Teves Jr. said.

“There is a law that focuses on the reuse and the recycling of garbage but the question here is, is it seriously being implemented especially at the barangay level?” said Teves.

TGP’s Teves is referring to Republic Act 9003 or the Solid Waste Management Act.

“The proper implementation should start from the barangay both in the rural and urban areas,” Teves added.

Teves recently guested on Radyo Inquirer’s Good Morning Inquirer program where he explained that the main focus of TGP is on the proper implementation of the Solid Waste Management Act.

“We can’t call ourselves pro-environment if we do not learn and practice proper waste management,” Teves stressed during the interview.

Teves was a former official of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and was vice governor for the province of Catanduanes. /muf
