MANILA, Philippines – An ‘indisposed’ President Rodrigo Duterte skipped both of his public engagements in Davao City on Friday.
Duterte was supposed to lead the distribution of Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) to Davao Region farmers in Davao City at 5 p.m.
The President, however, skipped the event.
His daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte – Carpio represented him.
The Chief Executive likewise missed the People’s Political Grand Rally at the Crocodile Park Grounds in Barangay Ma-a for the campaign rally of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) at 6 p.m, which was moved to 9 p.m.
Malacañang has yet to issue a statement on the President’s absence to these events.
Former special assistant to the president Christopher “Bong” Go said in a viber message that the President was “indisposed.”
He later said that Duterte had migraine.
Last February he skipped an event in Palo, Leyte province because he was “not feeling well.”

During the 33rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit, the 73-year old leader skipped some of his events because he “took power naps.”

Following rumors of his deteriorating health, Duterte had admitted that he underwent colonoscopy and endoscopy in 2018 but denied that he has serious illness. /gsg
