MANILA, Philippines — A security guard, who was about to board a train of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) on Friday, was arrested for carrying a loaded gun in her bag, the MRT-3 management said.
An initial report identified the security guard as Emelyn Batocable Zapra, 28. She was arrested at line’s Taft Avenue Station at 7:35 a.m.
INITIAL REPORT: At 07:35AM today, at Taft Avenue Station (Northbound), Emelyn Batocabe Zapra, 28 y/o, a security guard, was found carrying a 9mm with eight live ammos placed inside her bag upon her entry at the baggage inspection area.

Authorities found a 9 mm pistol with eight live bullets inside her bag when she entered the baggage inspection area.
The MRT-3 management said Zapra is employed by the Advance Forces Security and Investigation Services, Inc. and is assigned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
She was turned over the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Mobile Force Battalion for custody.
Zapra is facing charges for violation Republic Act No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and the election gun ban the MRT-3 management said.
The MRT-3 management said the arrested security guard is now detained at the Pasay Police Community Precinct 6. /muf
