MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said the temblor struck 20 kilometers (km) northeast of Cantilan, Surigao Del Sur at 7:02 a.m.
The quake was of tectonic origin had a depth of 16 km.
Phivolcs said no damage or aftershocks could be expected from the earthquake. /muf
