Drug suspect slain in Lucena sting
LUCENA CITY – Another alleged drug pusher who reportedly resisted arrest was killed in a buy-bust operation here Thursday noon, police said.
Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said Romarico Perez, 44, earlier sold one gram of “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay 8 around 12:55 p.m
As he was about to be collared, he resisted and reportedly pulled a .38 caliber revolver and fired at the arresting officer but missed.
The policeman fired back, hitting the suspect who died on the spot.
Police said Perez was a drug surrenderee but returned to his nefarious ways. / gsg
