Woman’s hacked body found at Aklan creek

MANILA, Philippines — The hacked body of a 41-year-old woman was found at a creek in Malinao, Aklan, police said Tuesday.

Police identified the woman as Irene Victoriano, a resident of Barangay Sugnod in Malinao.

On March 11, Barangay Chairman Ruben Agustino reported to police that a body was spotted at the creek of Sitio Pitugo in Barangay Sugnod.

SPO3 Rufino Iquiña went to verify the report and saw the body with hack wounds in the neck and head.

Police said the incident was still under investigation. /kga
