Shabu worth over P500k seized in Zamboanga port — PCG
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has confiscated over half a million worth of illegal drugs in Zamboanga City.
The agency said Tuesday that coast guard personnel in Zamboanga conducted a buy-bust operation inside the Zamboanga Integrated Port last March 7.
The operation led to the arrest of Jeanelyn Sinining, a resident of Barangay Upper Calarin in Zamboanga City.
Recovered from her were 13 medium and one large heated sealed transparent plastics of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) with an estimated street value of P557,000.
According to Sinining, the illegal drugs came from one of the passengers of Motor Vessel Bounty Cruiser that arrived at the Port of Zamboanga City from Jolo, Sulu.
The suspect, as well as the suspected shabu, was placed under the custody of Zamboanga Police Station 6. /ee
