MANILA, Philippines – South Cotabato was hit by a 3.5-magnitude earthquake on Monday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the quake hit 9 kilometers (km) southeast of Santo Niño, South Cotabato, at 9:18 a.m.
It generated an Instrumental Intensity II in T’boli, South Cotabato, while an Instrumental Intensity I was felt in Kiamba, Sarangani.
Phivolcs said the temblor was of tectonic origin and had a depth of 11 km.
No damage or aftershocks could be expected from the quake, the bureau said. /cbb
