MANILA, Philippines — The easterlies will affect portions of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao while the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring cloudy skies over Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.
According to Pagasa, Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain due to the northeast monsoon.
Meanwhile, the Bicol region, Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain or thunderstorms because of the easterlies.
Pagasa warned residents of the said areas to brace for possible flash floods and severe thunderstorms.
According to Pagasa, Metro Manila and rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies also due to the easterlies. /muf
