Duterte to Peter Lim: I will kill you wherever you are

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday threatened to kill alleged drug lord Peter Lim, who is currently in hiding.

“Itong Peter Lim na ito, may bahay sa Canada, may bahay sa Bahamas […] may bahay sa Hong Kong. Peter Lim, pag nakita kita maski saan papatayin kita and I will go to jail for you,” he said in a speech during the campaign rally of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) in Negros Occidental.

(This Peter Lim has a house in Canada, a house in the Bahamas…a house in Hong Kong. Peter Lim, if ever I see you I will kill you, and I will go to jail for you.)

Lim remains at large and has not been seen in public since the middle of last year after the Department of Justice launched an investigation against the Cebu-based businessman.

Duterte had earlier told reporters that he did not know if Lim was still in the Philippines or now out of the country. /ee
