Newly appointed Supreme Court Associate Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier was sworn into office on Thursday.
She took her oath before Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin, with eight Supreme Court justices and retired Chief Justice Teresita Leonardo de Castro as witnesses.
Now 62, the former Court of Appeals associate justice will sit in the Supreme Court until she retires on Nov. 16, 2026 at age 70.
President Duterte has now filled eight of 15 seats in the high court. —DONA Z. PAZZIBUGAN
