Diokno takes oath as BSP Governor
MANILA, Philippines — Former budget secretary Benjamin Diokno took his oath as the new Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor before President Rodrigo Duterte in Malacañang on Wednesday night.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said Diokno took his oath past 6 p.m.
Diokno replaced Nestor Espenilla Jr. who passed away on February 23.

Panelo said Duterte appointed Diokno as BSP chief because of his “integrity, competence, expertise.”
“We have a good man there, we have an experienced man, we have an expert man, we have a man of integrity,” he said in a Palace briefing on Tuesday.
