MANILA, Philippines — The North Luzon Expressway will be charging additional fees from motorists after the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) approved its petition for a toll hike.
NLEX Corporation announced on Wednesday that starting March 20, it will be charging an additional P10 for the open system and P0.18 per kilometer for the closed system.
The recently inaugurated NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 is counted under the open system. The Segment 9, once completed, will also fall under the same system.
“For the past seven years or since 2012, the NLEX Corporation has not enjoyed the periodic toll rate increases covered by its concession agreement with the government,” the corporation said in a statement.
“This however, has not prevented the tollway company from making new investments to improve and enhance the services to its thousands of motorists,” it added.
NLEX Corporation said that the P10 adjustment includes the additional rate of P6 following the completion of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10, while the P4 came from the first tranche of approved periodic adjustments which should have been implemented in 2013 and 2015.
The NLEX stretches 84 kilometers from Balintawak, Quezon City up to Mabalacat, Pampanga.
Below are the additional rates that motorists have to remember starting March 20:

Class 3 (large trucks and trailers): P29
