DAGUPAN CITY — Former Dangerous Drugs Board Secretary Antonio “Bebot” Villar Jr. died on Thursday night after a lingering illness at St. Luke’s Hospital in Quezon City. He was 72.
His family said the public viewing would be held at the Cosmopolitan Memorial Chapel in Araneta Avenue, Quezon City.
His remains will be brought to his hometown Sto. Tomas, Pangasinan on Tuesday.
Villar served as assistant secretary of the Department of Transportation and Communication and as chief of the Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group under former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
He also served as mayor of Sto. Tomas for 23 years.
He is survived by his wife Vivien, daughter Marie Antonette and grandchildren Toni, Gari, and Aljo. Yolanda Sotelo/lzb
