MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has appointed former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya as the department’s undersecretary.
President Rodrigo Duterte signed the appointment paper on Feb 27, 2019.
“Pursuant to the provisions of existing laws, you are hereby appointed Undersecretary, Department of the Interior and Local Government,” read the appointment paper.
Malaya was an Assistant Secretary for Capacity Development, Public Affairs and Communications at DILG.
In 2017, DILG also designated Malaya as the new administrator of the agency’s federalism campaign.
Malaya also served as executive director at the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) Federalism Institute. /jpv
