MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon affect the areas of Luzon and Visayas on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasted.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the provinces of Visayas, Cagayan Valley Region, Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon.
It will also bring party cloudy skies over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, Pagasa said.
Pagasa said no flashfloods or landslides could be expected as an effect of the northeast monsoon.
Meanwhile, Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain caused by localized thunderstorms.
Pagasa said affected residents should prepare for possible isolated flooding during a severe thunderstorm./muf
