BAGUIO CITY — A military-inspired float with the cast of a television evening drama and dinosaurs made of fresh cut flowers will be among the entries in the major parade for the 24th edition of Panagbenga this weekend.

The float parade would take place on Sunday, organizers said.

Float entries will be judged based on the creative design, floral craftsmanship, artistic merit, floral and color presentation and dramatic impact.

The annual flower fest will also feature on Saturday a dance and march competition among schools and other groups in the city and nearby areas.

Prizes for the winners start from P300,000, with consolation prizes for all contingents.

Traffic plans have been laid out for the street parade, with personnel assigned to strategic places, said Chief Insp. Oliver Panabang of the city’s traffic management office.

Kennon road is open for light vehicles going here from Feb. 22 until 6 p.m. on March 4.

“Heavy traffic is expected along Kennon Road and Marcos Highway and alternative routes such as the Tubao-Nangalisan-Asin or Bauang-Naguilian roads may be used,” Panabang said./lzb
