Sara Duterte to discuss with Imee Marcos school records issue

MANILA, Philippines — Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) chairperson and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio on Thursday said she will ask Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos to shed some light on the issue on her school records.

“I will ask her about it since hindi naman ako nagbabasa, nagsosocial media sa Facebook (since I do not read or do social media and Facebook),” Duterte-Carpio told reporters in an interview.

“I will ask our HNP staff to look into it, and I will ask senator Imee Marcos kung anong sagot niya or walang sagot tungkol sa issue ng school records (I will ask senator Imee what her response is, or if she does not want to respond to the issue, regarding her school records),” she added.

Marcos, a senatorial candidate running under HNP, has been on the hot seat about her educational background.

Marcos claims that she graduated from Princeton University.

However, Princeton University denied that the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos’ daughter graduated there and even said that the Ilocos Norte Governor “was not an average student” during her time at the university.

The younger Marcos, meanwhile, has yet to comment on Princeton’s statement. /ee
