4 SHS-ADC teams win in Aboitiz Football Cup

Four of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu’s (SHS-AdC) six teams won their matches yesterday in the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

The Magis Eagles’ Players 8 scored a 4-0 routing of Bright Academy while its Players 10 team completed a 2-1 edging of Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) 4.

SHS-AdC’s Girls Under 17 beat Cebu International School (CIS), 4-2, while its Men’s Under 19 scored a 6-1 demolition of DBTC.

SHS-AdC defaulted its match in the Players 6, handing DBTC a 3-0 win on a platter, while it suffered its other loss at the hands of Springdale FC, 0-1, in the Boys 14 division.

Other winners in the Players 6 were Giuseppe FC, which blanked Mactan Air Base Elementary School (MABES), 3-0;  Bright Academy A, which creamed its sister team Bright B, 3-0; and Bright Minds Active Learning Village (BMALV), which outwitted San Roque Football Club (SRFC), 3-0.

Children’s Paradise Montessori School (CPMS) and Canduman Dedon ended their match in a scoreless draw.

Joining the winner’s circle in the Players 8 were Giuseppe FC, Canduman Dedon, DBTC 3, DBTC 1 and SRFC.

In the Players 10, CIS inflicted a 10-0 demolition of the Center for International Education (CIE); DBTC 1 blanked MABES FC, 3-0; DBTC 4 survived Bright 7-3; Child Learning Foundation (CLF) downed DBTC 2, 3-0; Giuseppe edged SRFC A, 1-0; SFC got the better of Mandaue Technical Institute (MTI), 5-1; and Canduman Dedon cruised to an easy 4-1 victory over CIE.

The three matches in the Boys 12 had DBTC 1, Canduman Dedon and Bright Academy winning over their opponents.

In the Boys 14, CIS stomped on CLF with a 3-0 win; Abellana National School (ANS) Pomeroy frustrated Blessed John with a 2-0 win; and DBTC A went one up over MTI, 4-3.

The other Girls Under 17 match between Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion-Mandaue (CIC-M) and St. Theresa’s College (STC) B ended in a scoreless draw.
