Based on the latest data from the Department of Health, Metro Manila posted the highest number of new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases in December among all regions.
Of the 877 new HIV cases reported nationwide during that month, 37 percent or 325 were from the National Capital Region, followed by Calabarzon with 17 percent or 147 cases.
Central Luzon was third with 11 percent or 97 cases. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
