Fire hits Talibon, Bohol anew

TAGBILARAN CITY, Philippines – Fire gutted a two-story commercial building in Barangay Poblacion in Talibon, Bohol Monday morning, over a week after another fire razed 40 houses in the municipality.

FO3 Jacob Busangilan, chief investigator of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Talibon, said the fire broke out on the second floor of the building

A snack-in center and a restaurant occupied the ground floor.

No one was injured during the fire, said Busangilan, although it was raised to third alarm since there were houses near the area.

Firefighters from neighboring towns – Ubay, Bien Unido, Alicia, Anda, Tubigon, Inabanga and Clarin responded to the fire alarm and put the blaze under control at 8:45 a.m.

Damage caused by the fire was pegged at P2.8 million, according to Busangilan.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Last Feb. 17, fire broke out in a heavily populated residential area in Sitio Pasil, Barangay Poblacion in Talibon. / gsg
