CITY OF MEYCAUAYAN — The regional political party Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) took their campaign caravan to this vote-rich province on Monday morning as 10 of its 13 senatorial bets showed up during the sortie at the Meycauayan College.
More than 7,000 people attended the HNP rally here with its chair and founder Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio leading the campaign trail here.
Reelectionist Senator Cynthia Villar, an HNP candidate, said the party has scheduled about 100 more campaign sorties across the country for the entire campaign season.
Villar said the support that the party received from local officials gives them the “winning edge” over senatorial bets of the opposition Otso Deretso.
Villar was joined by reelectionist Senators JV Ejercito and Sonny Angara, and former Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Bong Revilla Jr. Also present here were former presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino, former journalist Jiggy Manicad, former Philippine National Police chief Ronald dela Rosa, former presidential aide Christopher “Bong” Go, and Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos. /kga
