P1.5M worth of drugs seized in Cainta buy-bust
SAN PEDRO CITY — Police recovered suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P1.5 million in a buy-bust operation in Cainta town in Rizal province, authorities said Sunday.
In his report, Supt. Lou Evangelista, Rizal police chief, said the operation happened around 7 p.m. Saturday in front of a supermarket in Barangay (village) Sto. Domingo.
He identified the suspects as Jaban Aliin, 27, a vendor; and Aliin’s companion, an 18-year-old female. The suspects were both residents of Taytay town.
Evangelista said police were tipped off about ongoing drug sale in the village. An undercover policeman went to buy suspected shabu worth P2,500 from Aliin, which prompted the arrest.
Police found 16 sachets of alleged drugs that weighed 230 grams or worth P1.5 million. The suspects were detained at the Cainta police station. /je
