MMDA announces Edsa road closures for People Power celebration
MANILA, Philippines — Two roads will be closed on Edsa during the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Friday.
MMDA said the Edsa-bound direction of White Plains Avenue from Corinthian Gardens Gate to Edsa will be closed to from 12:01 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb. 23 (Saturday).
Meanwhile, one lane on Edsa (in front of People Power Monument) will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Feb. 25 (Monday).
On Feb. 23, 1986, the Filipino people trooped to Edsa to call for the ouster of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos in a peaceful demonstration. /ee
