LUCENA CITY – Police arrested two suspected major suppliers of “shabu” (crystal meth) in Lucena City in a buy-bust operation noontime Wednesday.

Anti-illegal drugs operatives nabbed Junar Baluyot, 33, and Jarcel Paglicawan, 23, after they sold shabu to a police agent in Barangay 9 around 12:30 p.m., Supt. Reyndante Ariza, Lucena police chief, said in a report.

The suspects yielded 61 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P112,850. The seized illegal drugs were worth P274,500 in the street market at P4,500 per gram.

The suspects have long been the subjects of intensive surveillance operation after concerned citizens tipped off the authorities on their illegal activities through police hotlines. Delfin T. Mallari Jr./lzb
