Sara Duterte takes ‘spiritual journey’ between campaign stops

SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela — Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio took a “spiritual journey” on Tuesday on her Yamaha XSR900 big bike from Laoag City in Ilocos Norte on her way here to Santiago City in Isabela, where her regional party, Hugpong ng Pagbabago, was next conducting a campaign for its senatorial bets in the May 2019 elections.

She said she relished the moments from 6 a.m to noon, riding her big bike, which she calls Ella, and stopping by seven churches along the way, including some in Cagayan.

“I had my personal prayer and I also prayed for the success of all the candidates [of HNP],” she said.
