TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte – Carpio on Tuesday evaded the issue of a possible presidential election showdown with Vice President Leni Robredo in 2022.
“The best time to talk about the presidency is in January 2021,” Duterte-Carpio told reporters here pressed for comment on the possibility of challenging Robredo for the presidency in 2022.

Liberal Party stalwart and former Pampanga Gov. Among Ed Panlilio earlier hinted at a possible presidential run for Robredo.
The presidential daughter has been campaigning for Hugpong ng Pagbabago’s (HNP) Senate slate in various provinces in Luzon.
Robredo, on the other hand, has been campaigning for Senate opposition candidates while also visiting impoverished communities in line with her poverty alleviation initiative.
Duterte – Carpio said deciding to run for president is not easy, but she she will decide by January 2021.
