MANILA, Philippines — Over a week after a Chinese national bathed a police officer with soy pudding, an Iranian woman is now facing charges for direct assault after she allegedly punched and kicked a policeman and even burned his left hand with a cigarette.
According to a report from the Puerto Galera Municipal Police Station released Monday, its personnel received a phone call from the chairman of Barangay Tabinay about an Iranian national allegedly causing a disturbance in his village on Sunday.
The woman also allegedly took her clothes off in public, Chief Inspector Dominador Madrid III, head of the Puerto Galera Municipal Police Station, told reporters in a phone interview.
Police then proceeded to the area and brought the suspect, whose name was withheld due to her medical condition, to the police station for investigation.
The 31-year-old woman, however, allegedly turned aggressive, and “berated” and rained expletives at the police officers.
“Nirerecord sa blotter kasi imbestigador si PO2 Mangarin. Habang nagsusulat po siya bigla siyang sinipa. Nagsisigaw doon sa loob ng istasyon tapos sinipa siya tapos pinaso pa siya ng sigarilyo,” Madrid said, referring to Police Officer 2 Ferr Henrick Mangarin.
(It was recorded in the blotter because PO2 Mangarin is an investigator. While he was writing, the woman kicked him while shouting inside the police station. She also burned his hand with a cigarette.)
Police said the suspect was detained at the Puerto Galera Municipal Police Station and facing charges of direct assault to a person in authority. /ee
