Sara Duterte to decide on presidential bid by 2021
VIGAN CITY, Philippines – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio on Monday admitted that she is not closing her doors in the possibility of running for president, adding that she will wait and decide by January of 2021.
“‘Yung pagtakbo kasi ng presidente hindi ‘yan overnight na decision,” Duterte-Carpio told reporters after the campaign sortie here of her Hugpong ng Pagbabago(HNP) party here.
(Running for president is not an overnight decision.)
“It needs money, machinery at pinaka importante sa lahat yung wisdom at guidance ng Panginoon. Siguro gawa nalang tayo ng deadline, January of 2021,” she added.
(It needs money and machinery, but the most important thing is wisdom and guidance from the Lord. Maybe, let’s just set a deadline, January 2021.)

The presidential daughter also denied allegations that HNP, which she heads, is being used as her political vehicle for the upcoming 2022 elections.
“HNP cannot endorse a presidential candidate since HNP is a regional political party. Nangyari lang naman na lumabas kami this senatorial election dahil marami ang humingi ng tulong,” Duterte-Carpio said. / gsg
