Fire engulfs auto repair shop in Mandaluyong City

MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out at an auto repair shop in Mandaluyong City on Monday morning, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.

Senior Fire Officer 3 Edgardo del Pilar of BFP Mandaluyong said that the fire started at 11:14 a.m. along EDSA Connecticut in Mandaluyong.

He added that the alarm was was immediately raised to 2nd alarm at 11:30 a.m.

But Del Pilar said that it is unlikely to reach third alarm. He also said that no injuries were reported as of press time.

Meanwhile, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that the traffic situation in the area is now heavy.

JC Domingo of MMDA metrobase said that the tail-end of traffic has already reached Mother Ignacia in Quezon City.

MMDA personnel is already on site to assist the traffic.

Firefighters are still trying to put out the fire as of this posting. /je
