BACOLOD CITY — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has removed 126 illegally posted campaign materials in Bacolod City in Negros Occidental.
Of the 125 campaign materials, 58 were for senatorial candidate Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, former special assistant to the President, according to a Comelec report.
From Feb. 13 to 16, the Comelec also removed 50 campaign materials of another administration candidate, former Bureau of Corrections chief Ronald “Bato” de la Rosa.
Four of the campaign materials were for reelectionist Sen. Bam Aquino, an opposition candidate, were also removed, while two were for Maguindanao Rep. Zajid Mangudadatu, who is running for senator under the Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan.
Two campaign materials were for Rafael Alunan and 10 were for three party-list groups — five for Angkla, four for Abang Lingkod, and one for PBA1.
Most of the illegally posted posters were on trees and electrical posts outside the common poster areas, while others were oversized materials within private property. /atm
