North Cotabato teacher slain in Maguindanao

KIDAPAWAN CITY – An unidentified gunman shot dead a public school teacher on his way to a national high school in Datu Montawal, Maguindanao on Friday.

Chief Inspector Erwin Tabora, Datu Montawal town police chief, said Emmanuel Gonzales, a science teacher of Pikit National High School and a resident of Pikit, was driving his new motorbike on his way to school about 6 a.m. when the gunmen on board a separate motorbike opened fire on him in Barangay Bulit, Datu Montawal, Maguindanao.


He was hit on his back and fell off his motorbike, which the suspect took as they fled.

Responding police flagged down a passing ambulance and rushed Gonzales to the hospital where he died hours later.
