Duterte 'serious' in having honest, clean polls--PACC chair

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte is serious in having an “honest” and “clean” elections this May, the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) said.

In a press briefing on Thursday, the PACC and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) warned government agencies and workers against participating in partisan political activities.


PACC Chairman Dante Jimenez said that the President had given instructions to make sure that the upcoming midterm election is “an honest to goodness” one.

“I hope and atin pong mga kababayan, through the media, will disseminate, that the President is serious when he said ‘let us have an honest and clean elections for this year,'” Jimenez said. /jpv
