LOOK: LTO Bicol posts ‘Hugot’ lines for Valentine’s Day

MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in the Bicol region did not miss the chance to create its own Valentine’s Day gimmick. On Wednesday, it posted “hugot” lines around its headquarters.

Photos of the “hugot” lines were posted on LTO’s official Facebook page on Monday. One of the photos has this caption:  “Maligayang buwan ng mga puso! Ikaw? Ano ang LTO Hugot mo?”

“Ang lovelife mo ay parang plaka, wala pa rin hanggang ngayon. Maghintay ka lang, darating din yan,” read another.

Two other “hugot” lines reflect typical Filipino humor around LTO’s business: “Yung feeling na akala mo registered pa lisensya mo yun pala expired na. Parang si crush, akala mo gusto ka rin niya tapos hindi naman pala. Ouch!”

“Ang pag-ibig ay parang back ride sa motor, kapit ka ng mabuti aka ma-fall ka. Alalahanin mo kapag walang sumalo sayo masasaktan ka.”

Another “hugot” line reminded people to stay faithful: “Huwag kang mangaliwa. Bawal. Mali. Masama. Kailangan pa ba i-memorize yan?”

This gimmick drew mixed reactions from netizens — some were amused and posted their own comments or “hugot” while some clapped back at LTO.

One netizen chimed, “Sana po ang love parang TRAFFIC LIGHT din, para malaman natin kung we should GO for it WAIT for it or STOP for it to avoid HEART ACCIDENT!”

Another one commented: “Ang BF mo, parang plaka, sa isang sasakyan lang nakakabit pero dalawa kayong sabay na isinabit! Boom!”

Others aired their complaints to LTO such as these:

“May mga taong parang LTO — hingi nang hingi, pero wala namang binibigay. (Paid stickers at plaka).”

“Ang lovelife parang LTO – akala mo concerned siya sa iyo. Akala mo lang,” another netizen wrote. /ee
