Comelec starts canvassing of votes for 2nd round of BOL plebiscite

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc resumed its session on Monday to canvass the votes in the second round of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite.
Comelec, seating as the National Plebiscite Board of Canvassers, reconvened at 2:30 p.m. to canvass the votes from Lanao del Norte and North Cotabato.
The subject of the plebiscite is the entire Lanao del Norte province except Iligan City and 67 barangays in seven towns of North Cotabato.
Official results for the February 6 plebiscite was expected to be released past 6 p.m. but the session adjourned on Monday without finishing the canvass of votes. The session will resume Tuesday./ee
