Feb. 10 to 14: 21st Charter Day of Kidapawan City
The city of Kidapawan in Cotabato province celebrates its 21st Charter Day, with the theme “Kidapawan City at 21: Celebrating Life, Sustaining Peace, Envisioning Prosperity.”
Activities include a barangay and employees night, lechon festival, battle of the bands and Muslim wedding.
Feb. 10 to 14: Inaul Festival
The art of “inaul” weaving and the preservation of its industry take center stage in the weeklong festival in Buluan town, Maguindanao province.
Inaul, a traditional cloth of Maguindanao, is used for “malong” (wraparound), bags, wallets and computer bags.
Activities include a job fair, inaul trade expo, music festival and Moro song competition.
Feb. 10 to 11: Tinagba Festival
The ancient ritual of offering harvest to deities as a form of thanksgiving is highlighted in the festival in Iriga City, Camarines Sur province. The celebration coincides with the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. Farmers march and dance together with their carabao-drawn carts containing the finest produce.
